Majka Kaiser shares with us her version of a garland made from summer holiday beach finds.
|
YOU WILL NEED • A selection of shells and driftwood, used here is about 60 oyster shells and
7 small pieces of driftwood
• Wire • Electric drill
• Pliers
|
STEP ONE
Keep an eye out for interesting colours, textures and shapes while combing the shoreline.
Drill a hole through the middle of each shell and piece of driftwood.
STEP THREE
Thread each shell through the length of wire. Here I have grouped a few shells together punctuated by driftwood.
STEP FOUR
Create a loop at one end of the wire, thread the other end through the loop and bend back to secure.
STEP FIVE The thicker the wire the more effective the circular shape. Experiment with alternative natural materials like pumice, stone or kina.
TIP
These look great draped over a doorknob, bed post, or used as a table decoration. Add interest to a plain wall by hanging three in a row.
